"With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility"
-Ben Parker
Peter Parker, the "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man", has in some way, shape or form impacted the life of at least 70% of the people on this planet, whether you be a fan of comic books or movies, toys even. The red & blue suit has always embodied something, positive or negative, and if you ask someone if they know who "spidey" is, more than likely you'll get a yes. Now if you ask this question of Gwen Stacy, I'm sure you won't get much... Mary Jane, maybe, but Gwen Stacy, Peter's first true love...
Gwen was introduced to Marvel Comics by Steve Ditko & Stan Lee in 1965. She was known as the beauty queen, in modern day terms, "Everyone wanted to smash..." The less-retro haircut and knee boots makes her one of the most noticeable characters in the Marvel Universe. In 1973, one of the biggest tragedies of Peter's life came to fold, when the Green Goblin threw her from the Brooklyn Bridge Spidey shoots the web catching her by the foot and with the jerk motion stopping her in fall, her neck snaps... So in essence, Spidey killed Gwen, not the Goblin.

The reason I bring Gwen Stacy in this blog with me today is because the Amazing Spider-Man 2, starring Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man & Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy is set to release in May 2014, along with the villains the Rhino & Electro played by Paul Giamatti & Jaime Foxx. There has been no confirmation on the Green Goblin, but Norman and Harry Osborn have been. When I saw the Amazing Spider-Man, I thought it was a pretty decent movie, the more original, smart ass young looking Peter, Emma fit Gwen to the T. Then I realized, no Mary Jane which made we wonder, could this be the set-up for Gwen to die in 2. I had already made that assumption, even when others were like "dude are you stupid, they would never kill off Emma."

I hate to say I told you so, but when this movie comes out a Gwen Stacy's (Emma Stone) sexy ass kicks that bucket, I can look at all the doubters and say I told you so. I think with the death of Gwen it makes the Amazing Spider-Man movies from here on out stronger. What do you think???
