New Android & A New Nexus!

Earlier this week Google introduced us to some new things! Below we will give you a quick look at Google's new toys.

Android 4.3:

We expected to see a new version of Android at Google's I/O event this year, yet they decided to show us Play Store updates instead.
Finally we get to see a new version of Android. This is not a complete upgrade of the OS, and is not the long awaited Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, but an incremental update to 4.2 named 4.3.





Below are the additions to the new version of Android:

  • You can control user accounts with restricted profiles, on tablets.
    • The ability to create restricted user profiles that can limit user functionallity. Great for families.
  • Dial Pad auto complete
    • Auto completion of contact's names directly in from the dailer.
  • Bluetooth pairing with low power devices
    • For devices like smart watches and fitness equipment.
  • Refreshed Open GL:ES 3.0
    • Major improvements for graphics in games. 



Android 4.3 is available now for the Nexus 4, 7, 7(2013), 10 & the GSM Galaxy Nexus. Coming soon to the Verizon Galaxy Nexus.


Nexus 7 (2013):
Google also announced their new Nexus device, the Nexus 7 2013 edition. Google has refreshed their 7 inched flagship device to compete with the ever growing competition. The Nexus 7 is still manufactured by Asus and will still be called the Nexus 7 not 7 two or any thing like that.
Below you will find the specs/details of this upgraded device. 
  • The screen is now the highest definition screen ever on a tablet device!
    • 1920 x 1200 resolution with 323ppi
  • The processor is Qualcomm"s S4 Pro Snapdragon which is 80 percent faster
    • 1.5GHz quad-core with 2GB of RAM
  • 2mm thinner than the old Nexus 7
  • HDMI output
  • 4G connection available
  • NFC and wireless charging 
  • Improved battery with 9 hours of HD video playback and 10 hours of web browsing 
  • 5 mega pixel back camera and 1.2 mega pixel front camera.
The Nexus 7 will be priced at $229 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model. The 32GB Wi-Fi model will cost $269
The 32GB 4g model will cost $349.
